Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG participates in nationwide water protection study by Südwestrundfunk (SWR) and ARD
In cooperation between SWR and ARD, people and companies throughout Germany were asked to follow, observe and analyse streams and smaller rivers in their surroundings over the course of a whole year.
The company A. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG is particularly aware of its responsibility towards nature. Our plant in Schöneck is surrounded by nature, so we have adopted the nearest body of water and taken part in this study. In addition to regular observation and photographic documentation of the aquatic plants and animals living there, it also includes analysing the water quality. By documenting images and questionnaires, experts can carry out central analyses and assess the condition of local water bodies in Germany. In particular, the aim is to analyse the extent to which pesticides used for agricultural purposes lead to increased levels in water bodies.
Up to 70 % of all water run-off in Germany is channelled through small streams and small rivers. So far, however, only the large rivers have been analysed. This study makes it possible for the first time to obtain nationwide analyses of the state of our water balance in the Federal Republic of Germany.
