Dry micronization of the highest quality

Spiral jet mill ESM 170 - 500

The ESM series with system sizes from 170 to 500 mm in diameter ensures the micronization of particle structures in the particle size range from 3.5 to 100 μm.

Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG has separate plants with a total capacity of 2,500 tons, which are equipped differently depending on the hygiene standard.

The ESM 500 Hygiene for food, dental, animal health and pharmaceutical excipients applications guarantees germ-free micronization during ultrafine grinding thanks to its closed design and hygienic equipment. The processed compressed air is passed through sterile filters. The compressed air is oil-free and completely dried. Due to the lack of rotating components in the product-contact area, the design guarantees hygienically perfect grinding from the outset. In accordance with Ebbecke standards, the system is located in a separate room. The overall environment meets GMP standards with hygiene sluices, pest monitoring, controlled air flow and GMP personnel hygiene measures.

The ESM 500 has comparable technical features, but is set up in a different environment so that the additional costs associated with the GMP standard are not incurred – a cost-effective solution.

Special features

Our system technology enables the production of extremely steep particle size distributions with small inlet and outlet areas and linear distribution curves. The design without internal components ensures hygienic and gentle processing. The finished product can be filled directly after the filter into various target containers such as bags, cartons, drums, big bags or octabins.

For maximum safety, the systems have integrated metal detection and operate in a closed design. In addition, protective sieving, mixing and drying – including of the raw materials before micronization – are possible in order to optimally match the product quality to the respective requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Spiral Jet Mill

A spiral jet mill is used for the dry micronization of fine particle structures. At Ebbecke, the ESM series covers particle size ranges from 3.5 to 100 μm and is suitable for precise ultra-fine grinding without any internal rotating components in the product-contacting area.

Ebbecke uses ESM fine grinding systems with unit sizes ranging from 170 to 500 mm. Models include the ESM 170, ESM 500 Hygiene, and ESM 500 Technical, depending on product requirements, hygiene standards, and the desired target fineness.

The ESM series of spiral jet mills can achieve target finenesses ranging from 3.5 to 100 μm. This process is particularly well-suited for applications that require narrow particle size distributions and very fine powder qualities.

The ESM 500 Hygiene is designed for sensitive applications such as food, dental, animal health, and pharmaceutical excipients. It features a closed-loop design, hygienic components, sterile filters, oil-free and fully dried compressed air, and a GMP-compliant environment.

Yes, after passing through the filter, the finished product can be filled directly into target containers such as bags, cartons, drums, big bags, or octabins. Additionally, protective screening, blending, drying, and integrated metal detection are possible.
