New process engineering methods
A. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG has set up a completely new innovation center in the old plant in Frankfurt am Main in order to concentrate the previous pilot plants and process developments at one location. The Innovation Hub offers you a wide variety of mechanical processes from a wide range of equipment brands and the possibility to combine processes on site. This center is an important support for your research and development work.

Find out more about Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik’s environmental protection concept
A bulk material processing pilot plant is a facility equipped with test machinery where processes are tested, evaluated, and optimized on a smaller scale. The goal is to develop reliable processes for future contract manufacturing based on laboratory or development studies.
Preliminary tests in the pilot plant help reduce technical risks and realistically evaluate process parameters. This makes it possible to determine whether a process is economically viable, reproducible, and suitable for the planned production on a larger scale.
At the Powder Process Innovation Hub, processes such as mixing, liquid spraying, kneading, compacting, sieving, drying, and grinding can be tested. Various pilot and production machines, as well as a testing laboratory for quality-related measurements, are available for this purpose.
At Ebbecke, small-scale trials in the pilot plant are defined as those involving up to 20 kilograms of product. Following such trials, a production proposal can be prepared that takes into account the planned processing volume and manufacturing costs.
A technical center supports the scaling-up process by conducting test series under real-world conditions and evaluating them analytically. This yields reliable insights into process control, product quality, manufacturing costs, and subsequent contract manufacturing on a larger scale.
In all technical developments, our engineers keep an eye on the efficiency of the processes. Because one thing is clear: an innovation can only succeed on the market if the development and the subsequent purchase price remain within defined economic limits. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG has been convincing in this respect for years with its pilot plants as centers of in-house development work. Together with our customers, we develop new processes in these extensively equipped test machine parks directly on site, which can be scaled up directly for subsequent large-scale production.
One of the foundations of Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG’s efficiency is the company’s own scientific analysis laboratory. Together with our customers, test series are created and evaluated here, with the help of which precise statements can be made with regard to subsequent cost-effective contract production on a larger scale.
The advantage is obvious: with cost-effective development under optimum conditions, we significantly reduce the financial risk for our clients. Small-scale trials in our company are charged at a flat daily rate for quantities of up to 20 kilograms. The customer then receives a production offer that takes into account the planned processing quantity and production costs.
The utmost confidentiality applies to all inquiries and work in our test technology centre for bulk solids processing: Ebbecke employees know that the product properties and process technologies have been worked hard on by our industrial partners. They also know that this know-how often forms the basis of a business model or a successful product.
Confidentiality is therefore a central characteristic of our developers and employees. In concrete terms: Ebbecke consistently treats customer, product and processing data for contract drying with the greatest possible confidentiality and discretion. As part of the TIM concept (Total Industrial Management), Ebbecke is therefore the perfect outsourcing partner for your development and research projects in the field of bulk solids processing.
With our decades of process engineering expertise, we save our customers a lot of money every day. Therefore, please do not hesitate to contact us at an early stage, even for new developments. We will be happy to advise you on site at our technical center or, if you wish, at your premises. We look forward to your inquiry.
