Frequently Asked Questions About Mixing and Coating

Ebbecke’s mixing equipment is supplemented by a fully automated gravimetric dosing and weighing system, as well as by shredders, nozzle racks, and filling options for various containers. Technically, Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG is thus equipped to handle every conceivable task in the field of contract blending, even the contract blending of particularly shear-sensitive bulk materials.

The quality of our mixing equipment is evident in the technical details: Components that come into contact with the product are consistently made of stainless steel in accordance with current hygiene standards. Furthermore, all mixing systems can be thoroughly and easily cleaned, disinfected, and fully inspected for final quality control. Integrated exhaust air filter systems capture the dust generated during the mixing process, thereby minimizing product loss of the bulk material as well as environmental impact.

Furthermore, our state-of-the-art plowshare mixing plants, for example, enable the homogeneous mixing of a wide variety of components. The mixing plants are all equipped with high-performance shredders and nozzle racks for spraying liquid additives onto carrier material. Furthermore, as a full-service provider, we offer our customers flexible mixing capacities that can be made available on short notice to replace or supplement their own mixing systems.

We also offer our customers personalized support during peak periods that require expanded production. Our extensive, secure warehouse space allows for the storage and temporary holding of large quantities of goods in a wide variety of containers. As a full-service provider, our product portfolio also includes handling process documentation as well as the professional management of logistics and customs-related tasks.

Ebbecke does not sell goods it manufactures itself, but rather operates as a partner to the industry within the framework of the TIM (Total Industrial Management) concept. In this context, our employees understand that the product properties, process technologies, and mixing ratios have been painstakingly developed by our industry partners. They also know that this expertise often forms the foundation of a business model or a successful product. Customer, product, and processing data are therefore consistently treated with the utmost confidentiality and discretion at Ebbecke.

Ebbecke offers contract blending and coating services for bulk materials using a variety of mixing systems and flexible production capacities. The goal is to achieve a homogeneous mixture even for challenging products, such as those in the chemical, cosmetics, food, animal health, or 3D printing industries.

For contract mixing, Ebbecke uses, among other things, plow-blade mixers, Nauta mixers, container mixers, trough mixers, Rhönrad mixers, Eirich mixers, vortex screw mixers, and special mixing systems. This allows the mixing process to be adapted to the product, the bulk material’s behavior, and the desired result.

Yes, during mixing and coating, liquid additives can be applied to the substrate via integrated spray systems. Solids and liquids are dosed as needed using gravimetric dosing systems.

Ebbecke offers mixing chamber volumes ranging from approximately 30 liters to 10 m³ gross mixing chamber volume. This allows for the contract mixing of both smaller specialty batches and larger industrial batches.

Materials that come into contact with the product are made of stainless steel, V2A, or a higher-grade version. The mixing systems can be cleaned, disinfected, and inspected for final quality control; integrated exhaust air filtration systems reduce dust inhalation and product loss.
