Frequently Asked Questions About Bag Fill

“Bag Fill” refers to the flexible filling of bulk materials into bags, drums, and cartons. At Ebbecke, bulk materials are filled from sources such as storage silos, big bags, octabins, sacks, or cartons into standard container types.

The Bag Fill system can be used to fill valve bags, open-mouth bags, cardboard boxes, barrels, and fiber drums. Depending on the type of container, plastic bags are heat-sealed, paper bags are sewn shut, valve bags have their valves heat-sealed or are folded, and cardboard boxes or drums are sealed with liners.

Bag Fill is particularly well-suited for filling open bags, valve bags, and specialty bags in the range of approximately 5 to 25 kg. Even thin-walled EVA bags can be gently filled and palletized when product protection and transport safety are important.

Ebbecke uses various contract filling systems for Bag Fill, including screw-type weighing systems, turbine packers, pneumatic packers, downpipe packers, and small-container filling systems. The parts that come into contact with the product are made of stainless steel and some are electropolished.

Bag Fill is a useful option when companies need additional filling capacity on short notice, want to relieve the load on their own equipment, or wish to have bulk goods flexibly filled into bags, drums, cardboard boxes, or specialty packaging. This is particularly relevant in cases of fluctuating campaign volumes, technical bottlenecks, or outsourced packaging processes.
