What are liquid goods?
Liquid goods are goods in a liquid aggregate state. Liquids do not have a fixed form; their particles are in constant motion. Factors such as pressure or temperature can influence the state of a liquid. In addition, liquids can have very different properties, which must be taken into account, not least during filling. These properties play a particularly important role in the field of process engineering and contract filling.
At Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG, goods in a liquid state can be filled as required with the help of modern machines and special solutions. Naturally, attention is also paid to compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental protection guidelines.
Safety precautions during filling
Depending on the liquid product, various safety aspects must be taken into account during filling. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik, for example, has overflow protection and drip extraction systems. In the case of harmful vapors, gas hoods protect employees and the environment during filling.
Flammable liquids
Special precautions must be taken when filling flammable substances and liquids. The pumps must be made of conductive materials and it must be ensured that electrostatic charges do not generate sparks and thus cause a fire.
Acids and alkalis
Acids, alkalis and cleaning agents can be safely filled using plastic pumps. When handling these corrosive and aggressive substances, special protection must be provided for the employee operating the machine. Body protection such as gloves, safety goggles and a face mask are mandatory.
Gas-tight filling
Volatile substances, such as ammonia, form hazardous vapors during filling, which can pose a risk to the user. A gas-tight screw connection is therefore mandatory. However, if the medium to be filled is particularly toxic, strong-smelling and highly volatile, a closed filling system that returns the gases directly into the container is essential to ensure maximum safety.
The filling process at Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik
As a contract filler, Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik can process almost any bulk and flowable material with its modern machinery – whether powder, viscous, pasty, floury, fine or coarse-grained.
Filling is carried out on calibrated scales in drums, canisters and cans, etc. Delivery ramps at the building ensure smooth logistical processing in the Chempark’s internal plant traffic and also externally.
Depending on our customers’ requirements, we can produce up to 10,000 tons of liquid mixtures. Storage can take place on site; various containers are available for provision. We have a special stainless steel plant for filling IBC and tanker containers. This enables us to supply large parts of the European market with a wide variety of liquid mixtures – quickly, cost-effectively and flexibly.
