Special mixing systems for various applications
Micronizing has a very special role to play in process engineering: particles are significantly reduced in size through toll grinding. This is a micronization process, also known as ultrafine grinding, which is used in numerous sectors – from the food industry and cosmetics to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG specializes in micronizing a wide variety of substances, for example foodstuffs, plant-based ingredients or plastics. Our fine grinding systems for powder in contract grinding not only enable the dissolution of agglomerates and the breaking up of solid grain structures, but also ultra-fine grinding in reproducible product quality. In addition to high-quality contract grinding, our customers also value our flexibility as an all-round service provider in contract filling and our grinding systems, which can be individually adapted to the specific requirements of the grinding process.
Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik leaves nothing to chance when it comes to micronization. State-of-the-art measuring instruments and procedures are used to analyze grain spectra and particle size distribution in contract grinding. Laser diffraction devices or test sieve shakers from Retsch and J. Engelsmann as well as air jet sieves from Alpine are available for testing your ground material during the grinding process.

The contract grinding, pulverization or granulation of different materials – for example for the production of medical products, cosmetics or medicines – fundamentally changes the material properties due to the increase in surface area and achieves the desired result for the end product, for example:
As a professional service provider in contract grinding, Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik offers the highest possible flexibility in our system types, which are adapted to the materials to be micronized. The grinding of your products can therefore be perfectly tailored to your requirements. Ebbecke has fine grinding centers with special mills for natural products, circular gas systems and cryogenic grinding systems for temperature-sensitive products, where cryogenic grinding – also known as cold grinding – is used. All our grinding systems for bulk material processing are made of stainless steel and are designed as closed systems with dosing equipment, discharge with disposable filters, separators and bunkers.
Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik uses the Fine Mill for ultra-fine grinding. This allows not only the production of narrow grain spectra and the sieving out of oversized particles, but also the addition of superplasticizers, which increases the storage stability of the product. Temperature-sensitive and lubricating products, on the other hand, are ground with our Cryogenic Mill. These include foodstuffs, resins, seeds and other natural raw materials as well as fine chemicals that are micronized at very low temperatures. This process is described as cold grinding or cryogenic grinding. In cold grinding, the material is cooled down with the addition of cryogenic gases, such as liquid nitrogen, making it easier to grind. For the production of homeopathic remedies, herbal teas or for medicines and other products in the pharmaceutical sector, we micronize herbs, tree bark, plant roots or leaves for our customers using the Drug Mill. A wide variety of plastic granulates, on the other hand, are ground and pulverized in Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik’s contract grinding department using the high-performance Plastic Mill. The ground finished product can also be dedusted at the same time if required. The grinding of your products is extremely flexible thanks to this variety of grinding processes.
In order to remain flexible in production and distribution, we offer our customers individual support for peak loads that require extended production. Our storage areas throughout Germany enable the professional storage and interim storage of large quantities of goods in different containers. On request, Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik, as an all-round contract filler, can also take on the process documentation for contract grinding or ultra-fine grinding as well as handling logistics and customs tasks. The following applies to all micronization orders: Our process engineers know that the product properties, process technologies or mixing ratios have been worked hard for by our industrial partners. They also know that this know-how often forms the basis of a business model or a successful product. It therefore goes without saying that all customer, product and processing data is treated with absolute confidentiality and discretion at Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik, even in contract grinding.
