What does Fine Mill mean?
Fine Mill describes the process of fine grinding. The fine grinding equipment used enables agglomerates to be broken up and solid grain structures to be broken down to the finest possible size. In this process, the material to be ground is rubbed in a finely adjusted grinding mill in order to achieve the most homogeneous grinding possible. Fine grinding usually takes place at low speeds in order to increase the storage stability of the products. Very narrow particle spectra can be achieved by this type of grinding.
Fine grinding can also be used to improve the storage stability of certain products with the addition of liquids. Fine grinding processes are particularly suitable for breaking down agglomerates – especially in the case of crystallized products.
Fine Mill at Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik
All grinding plants for bulk material processing are made of stainless steel and are designed as closed plants with dosing devices, discharge with disposable filters, separators and bunkers. Accordingly, they meet the strict specifications and hygiene standards of the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Technologies for fine grinding
Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik offers a wide range of processes in the field of contract grinding:
Fields of application
Fine grinding / Fine Mill is used in many different industries, including the pharmaceutical industry, the chemical industry and the cosmetics industry. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik specializes in micronizing many different substances with their varying properties and requirements. These include, for example, vegetable substances, foodstuffs or plastics. With our fine-mill systems, we can ensure not only the dissolution of agglomerates and the breaking up of solid grain structures in high quality in the area of contract painting, but also the ultra-fine grinding of substances in reproducible product quality. Our grinding systems can be individually adapted to the specific requirements of the grinding process.
Quality assurance during fine grinding
To ensure the quality of the end product, oversize particles can be screened out or sifted with the aid of laser diffraction and moisture measuring equipment. In addition, experts at Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik check the accuracy of the fine grinding results in the company’s own laboratory to ensure that all quality criteria have been met. Laser diffraction equipment, test sieve machines and air jet sieves are available for this purpose.
For applications in the food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics industries, special attention must also be paid to hygienic conditions – this is where micronization under hygienic standards comes into play. As part of regular hygiene checks, we sample surfaces and plant components and can analyze such microbiological smear samples ourselves in our laboratory in order to be able to permanently check compliance with strict hygienic standards in hygiene processing.
