What is micronization and micronizing?
Micronizing or also fine grinding is a process for the significant size reduction of particles by grinding. The micronized powders produced in this way are used in a wide range of industries.
Fields of application for micronized products:
Advantages of grain size reduction
„A classical method for the production of such fine particles is spray drying, which, however, is usually only possible with water-soluble substances and, due to the introduction of heat, does not generally require any change in material properties. Spray drying also reaches its limits with particle sizes below 100 μm.1 In addition there is also the method using an opposing jet mill, where the material is accelerated by means of compressed air and the particles collide.“
