What is vacuum drying?
Vacuum drying is a sub-area of industrial drying in which the goods to be dried are exposed to a vacuum. This process is particularly gentle and is therefore used above all for heat-sensitive goods such as foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, in the chemical industry, and others. The negative pressure during vacuum drying reduces the boiling point and thus leads to evaporation of the water even at low temperatures. This promotes fast and safe drying without compromise.
Vacuum drying at Ebbecke
Drying temperature-sensitive products is a challenge for process engineering. Especially with porous particle structures, it can take a long time to achieve the desired degree of residual moisture. This is because the use of high temperatures to accelerate the drying process is out of the question for heat-sensitive products. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik AG therefore resorts to vacuum drying here to ensure efficient and gentle drying.
The big advantage: Vacuum drying is generally an effective, but relatively expensive process. In order to offer our customers economical solutions here, we have developed an innovative, flexible and modular vacuum drying system that enables us to dry even large quantities of goods to be dried quickly and reliably. Our customers benefit from cost savings of up to 40% compared to other processes!
