The word cosmetic comes from the ancient Greek word “kosméein”. That means something like “decorate”. But the cosmetics industry is not just about beauty products. The product portfolio also includes nourishing creams and bath salts that promote healing. Since cosmetic products come into contact with the skin, they are subject to strict regulations. In Europe, these are specified in the EU Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.
